While LGBT rights may have made giant strides in some countries like the US in recent years, the quest for equality remains an uphill climb in the rest of the world. Many still struggle with bullying, discrimination, and limited opportunities. And in places where homosexuality is illegal or considered as an unforgivable sin, being a member of LGBT community can be a dangerous thing. But despite the odds there continues a growing awareness on LGBT rights and issues that need to be addressed. Here are some of the best TED Talks on LGBT that will restore or strengthen your faith in humanity.

As much as we’d like to deny it, we tend to get too overwhelmed with what’s happening around us. As much as we’d also like to deny it, we tend to get too affected with what’s overwhelming around us. With all those cruelties happening in front of us, we tend to get scared – and ultimately, get too scared about taking risks in our lives. With all those criticisms happening in front of us, we tend to get afraid – and ultimately, get too afraid about going outside our comfort zones.
But you know what?
It doesn’t have to be that way. It doesn’t need to be that way.
Because no matter who you are, you deserve the world. Because no matter what you are, you deserve the world. Because no matter where you are, you deserve the world. Because no matter how you are, you deserve the world. Because you deserve the world without having to get scared about taking risks in your life. Because you deserve the world without needing to get afraid about going outside your comfort zone.
You deserve the world, with all those rich histories out there in every single place to go. You deserve the world, with all those vibrant cultures out there in every single thing to do. You deserve the world, in all its glory as the warm sun shines down on your body while roaming around the place on sneakers. You deserve the world, in all its glory as the cool wind blows up on your face as you rove around the place on bicycles.
You deserve the world, no matter how cruel other people can be. You deserve the world, no matter how critical other people can be.
Ever felt like the world is going against you? Ever felt like no one is there for you? Ever felt like you are sinking into a deep hole with no way out?
Don’t give up, though.
As much as you’d like to just shut the world out, as much as you’d like to be alone forever, as much as you’d like to fully succumb into that deep hole, the fact remains that you are a part of this world and what you’re going through is a part of life itself.
We’ve all heard about those stories. How more kids are getting bullied every single day. How more teens are engaging with impersonation cyberbullying. How more adults are committing suicide every single day. And we’ve all heard about those reasons. That those kids are just playing with the bullied kid. That those teens are just having fun with the bullied kid. That those adults have nothing to do with the one who committed suicide.
I know. It’s saddening. It’s maddening. It’s even getting worse as time goes by. But you know what? You have the power to change the world. You have the voice for others to listen to. You have the hands for others to reach out to. You are the power of change itself, as you continue to live your life with all those lessons you’ve learned in every challenge that came your way – no matter how hard it was for you, no matter how haunting it was for your loved ones.
Never let anyone tell you otherwise. That you don’t have the power to change the world. That you don’t have the voice for others to listen to. That you don’t have the hands for others to reach out to.
Never let anyone tell you otherwise. That you aren’t the power of change itself.
For me who cares about you, for your loved ones who care about you, for the rest who cares about you…you are the change we’ve all been waiting for – the change who will make the world a better place to live in.
